World Poetry Day
Once upon a time, a teen struggled to be a teenager and found solace in poetry. She read Wilfred Owen, Seamus Heaney, Joyce Grenfell, William Shakespeare. She wrote ditties and haiku, sonnets and poems inspired by Purple Ronnie. Her mother still has it all stored away somewhere. One piece won the school Literature Award, which spurred her on to study English at University. Then she grew up to be me, wrestling dogs, cleaning up wee and sharing … [Read more...]

It … [Read more...]

And then I did nothing with it: progress of a kind. And yet a flurry of activity today gave me some progress. Following … [Read more...]
Project 366 Week Eleven
Buy Blue Basil Gourmet Brownies
As ever, the email request was assumed to be rhetorical: would I like to review some brownies? Only if you can't give me this week's Lottery winning numbers... So imagine my utter joy when a parcel awaited my return from the school run this morning: DH must have signed for it and then departed for Bristol, so he's missing out. I am an admirer of beautiful packaging, so Blue Basil Gourmet Brownies had me mentally writing this review before … [Read more...]
