Double Chocolate Cappuccino Cupcakes

chocolate cappuccino cupcakes

Serendipity. Great word, right? It's the word that describes you getting a cake mix in a goody bag on the same day as your new teacup cupcake cases arrive. So, after a very busy weekend, Dimples and I got down to a bit of baking on Monday. After scanning the QR code, I discovered that my cake mix originated with Appliances Online's blog, where I also found the full ingredient list and instructions about a baking … [Read more...]

How to give a Cut Glass bowl a new look with Mod Podge and Spray Paint

You know how it is: you see an idea for milk glass using spray paint on one site, Source: homespunwithlove.blogspot.com via Jennifer on Pinterest   then a post on how to colour glass using Mod Podge on another site   Source: creativelittledaisy.typepad.com via Ashley on Pinterest   and before you know it you are trawling your stash of Charity Shop purchases to see if you can combine the two processes … [Read more...]

Harvest Festival Horn of Plenty

Harvest Festival Horn of Plenty

The Horn of Plenty is a project we've all been working on for a couple of weeks in advance of Harvest Festival, first on the constituent parts, then putting everything together. The easiest part, and my primary contribution, was making the horn. I used a piece of A2 card and sketched out the horn shape. Then I took apart a couple of brown gift bags I had left over from a birthday party. Next I cut crescent shaped pieces from the paper in a … [Read more...]

Keyless digital lock review

keyless digital lock review

We have an alleyway between our house and the neighbours which is shared and allows access to our garages, and which is barred by a gate. In order to open the gate you have to walk all the way through the house, unlock the back door and the garden gate then walk back along the alley to open the gates from the inside. It is inconvenient to say the least. Which is why I was utterly delighted to be sent a fabulous keyless digital lock. It is … [Read more...]

My victory speech for the MAD Awards 2012. Because I am a winner, you know.

I'm heading to the MAD Awards 2012 this evening and I am beyond excited. I won't come home with a prize because I'm not a finalist but I am happy just to be attending such a prestigious event  and rubbing shoulders with  the cream of the parent-blogging crop.   But whilst I won't make it to the winners podium this evening I know that I could have been. Because I was nominated by someone , or many someones, who read this blog. I thought … [Read more...]

No-Bake Pumpkin “Cake-Pops” for Halloween

Pumpkin no bake marshmallow pops

It's only a month until half-term and Halloween, which means it's time for me to start planning our Annual Pumpkin Party. I had an idea for a no-bake pumpkin cake-pop after seeing my daughters toast marshmallows on our last camping trip, so I wanted to test it out. I'm very pleased with my pumpkin cake-pops, and the Girls even more, because they can help make them. You need: marshmallows lollipop sticks orange candy melts, or … [Read more...]
