I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client. A friend moved house recently and I wanted to bring her a gift that didn't require eating, or a vase. She's just had a baby, and I was reminded of a beautiful bouquet I received when LBG was born that was made from socks and booties and useful things. Then last week … [Read more...]
How to make cupcake cookies
Cupcake Belle came to visit DG Manor this week, bringing with her a delightful selection of pink baking tools and the promise of fun in the kitchen. Sadly she visited on the day that my Girls decided baking was 'boring' and could they play Lacrosse in the garden with Daddy? (How middle-class do I sound right now?) Which left me, in a pink spotty pinny too small to do up round my ample frame. Fortunately I am pretty good at cookie making. I had … [Read more...]
{Vitamix} Cocktail recipe: The King’s Peach
I was unexpectedly sent a few samples of iced tea from Hampstead Tea. The warm weather and my new Vitamix made me think I should use them in cocktails. And so I did. My favourite tea- the Raspberry, I added to a tin of frozen peaches- more specifically I should say that I emptied a tin of peaches into a tub and froze them. I topped it up with a hefty whack of the fabulous Raspberry Vodka from Howards of Kent and blended until smooth. It really … [Read more...]
You can bake bread in a slow cooker
You can bake bread in a slow cooker. You really can and, honestly, if I hadn't tried it myself I would never have believed it. Now I read on this site that you need to leave the dough to rest before putting it in the cooker. I didn't. I lined the Crock Pot with a sheet of baking paper and bunged in the dough. I … [Read more...]

They are all so lovely. As my life is fuelled by Diet Coke there is every … [Read more...]
The countdown to summer holidays
The countdown has begun for us: we're into the second half of summer term and I am madly trying to plan things to keep The Girls occupied for the nine weeks that they get. Our actual holiday- the one DH has booked time off for- has been in the diary for nine months. We are very excited to be heading to Norway to camp in the night-time sun. The Girls are less enthused. They have friends who have booked a great August holiday this year: they've … [Read more...]
Hama bead brooch and pendant tutorial
I haven't broken out the Hama beads for a while but I've seen the fabulous necklaces on the Chelsea Doll website and, as I don't have time to order and receive one between now and BritMums Live, I thought I'd have a go at making one myself. There seems to be a trend at the moment for using the word Geek, Epic and Dork on things and, as I am going as an award finalist, I figured that the middle term was the most appropriate and at only four … [Read more...]
