The ghost of Christmas past
Christmas always had a precision to it. I awoke on Christmas morning, more often than not was awoken by my younger brother, and sat on my bed unpacking my stocking. Once I'd reached the tangerine and gold chocolate coins that were tucked at the bottom, I'd take my stash into my parents' bed and show them all that Santa had given me. After my brothers had done the same, mum would go downstairs to get us all a drink. I never understood until I was … [Read more...]
Edible Sparkle gifts for teachers (and mums!)

Better late than never, right? No bake salt-dough alternatives to decorate your tree.

The Wonder Hound, who whined so pitifully in the night because she was cold that we brought her into our room just to shut her up. She obligingly curled up under the duvet at the bottom of the bed to warm DHs toes.2. The Pocket Dictator, who woke up cold (not … [Read more...]

What to watch: Top Five Christmas Films
You've got to admit that it's really not Christmas without the Queen's Speech, the afternoon movies that you doze off through and the repeats of Only Fools and Horses. In fact I'd hazard a guess that the topic of Christmas television will be unavoidable in the next few weeks: either you will talk excitedly about things you are looking forward to, or you will moan wholeheartedly after the event about the rubbish on TV and how there were too many … [Read more...]
