Yes, you read right. My six months is up, over, finished. As with the 300+ days that Dimples has been in our lives, we have no idea where the time has gone. Wasn't it yesterday that we were assembling our new Quinny Zapp, bleary eyed from jetlag and the challenge of keeping two smalls occupied on an overnight flights from the States? In that time we have truly given the Quinny Zapp Xtra a run for it's money. It's travelled thousands of … [Read more...]
Beauty is truth, and how the internet revolutionised the Middle East.
The Tots 100 Blog Hop this month is on the topic of beauty. There are a couple of lines that I remember from studying English at school that come to mind whenever there is talk of beauty: "'beauty is truth, truth beauty,' – that is all / Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know" As someone whose beauty regime consists of a quick hair-brush, a roll of deodorant and a smear of moisturiser, a romantic declaration such as this is practically … [Read more...]
Silent Sunday: driving me crazy
Things I want my daughters to know

Threeva is exhausted after three full days at nursery, playdates and the general busy-ness of being a nearly-three-year-old. Dimples is delighted unpacking the neatly folded laundry onto the … [Read more...]

Expression of sympathy
The death toll of the Christchurch Earthquake currently stands at 75. There are people being killed on the streets of Libya as they try to oust their leader. The Manager at Dimples' Nursery lost her fight with Breast Cancer last week, leaving a young son and a hole in our community. When you get news like this, news that affects you deeply, it's hard to know what the right thing to do would be. In the case of the civil unrest in the Middle … [Read more...]
Farewell Maternity Exemption Card
The arrival of the Maternity Exemption Card (MEC) in the mail always felt like a right of passage associated with pregnancy. I almost wanted to note it down along in my journal along with mutterings about scans or what I bought for the baby or how I felt, at least with Threeva. By the time I was pregnant with Dimples, I was a pro with the whole MEC thing. The moment I heard it flop on the hall carpet, I dialled the dentist. You get free dental … [Read more...]
