Now I'm no Red Ted, but I do try, and after some success at bubblewrap printing at playgroup a few weeks ago, I messed around with using Bubblewrap to make Easter Cards. You will need: Bubblewrap Cards Paint Glue Stickers, Glitter, adhesive ribbon, regular ribbon Firstly, cut egg shapes from the bubblewrap. Make sure they are slightly smaller than the card you are using. Then mix paint and glue together in the style of Mister Maker (a 50/50 … [Read more...]

Mother’s Day Cath Kidston Giveaway
I know that we're still in March, but as you turn the calendar in two weeks' time, you'll be shocked to realise that you only have three days to buy wrap and send a personalised, heartfelt Mother's Day gift. It goes without saying that I am relatively new to motherhood, but have been looking after children for long enough to know that this is one of those days you don't want to forget (along with birthday and anniversary. I defy you to 'forget' … [Read more...]
Coping with addiction.
I really love taking part in the Friday Carnival: the topics are always interesting and leave room for everybody to interpret them so differently. It was frustrating to not take part last week, though I'd have been forced to write on my total lack of ethics (though not morals) and activism, and risk being taunted by those who do a far better job than me at changing the world one small step at a time. I didn't take part out of cowardice, but … [Read more...]
Do something funny for money: Red Nose Cakes
If I tell you that the only joke I can ever remember is the Honda pants joke my mother used to tell me when I was smaller, you will believe me when I tell you I am not a funny person. Which is not to say that I don't love comedy, because I do. Well some of it: I never 'got' the humour in The Office, or Knocked Up, or Dumb and Dumber. I really enjoy live comedy though, and have recently seen Omid Djalili (annoyingly didn't start my contractions, … [Read more...]
The luck of the Irish
On the eve of St. Patrick's Day, I give you the simplest shamrock EVER. All you need is a pepper, a knife, some paint and some paper. 1. Using knife, cut pepper in half widthways. 2. Dip pepper in paint. 3. Print pepper onto paper, card, wall (OK, maybe not the last one.) And Bob is your Uncle. If you are feeling a little more creative, try some of these great ideas: Roots and Wings has been busy eating rainbows all week in … [Read more...]
A tree for every season
It's week 50 in The Gallery and for the life of me I cannot believe that a year has gone by since it began, not that I started trying to keep up until recently. It has become such an institution in the section of the Blogosphere I feel most comfortable in that I can't remember a time before it existed. It's testament to the blogversity of the legendary Tara of Cain that she has managed to think up a different topic for each of the last fifty … [Read more...]
