How to make a Rabbit Wreath for Easter

rabbit wreath for Easter

I have been meaning to join in Magpie Monday at Me and My Shadow for the longest time since I am a regular raider of charity shops and love going to Boot Fairs. I keep forgetting to take photos which would make for an incredibly dull post. And then last week I was inspired by a bargain children's coat, which today was reincarnated, or 'upcycled' into a fabulous Rabbit Wreath to hang on our door for Easter. I am deeply proud of myself so I will … [Read more...]

Mother Love

I don't have that many pictures of my mum when we were growing up for the simple reason that she was always the one behind the camera. It doesn't matter that she's not always in the shot though, because she's always a part of the memory of that moment. That's something I always carry with me: the knowledge that my Mum is always there, whether you can see her or not.   A rare shot of us with Mum   One of the books I most enjoy … [Read more...]

Yogurty Lemon Drizzle Cake

The lovely people at Danone seem to think I’m quite a reasonable cook. Reasonable enough at least to offer me a couple of cartons of their fabulous new Activia pouring yogurt, as advertised by Jamie Theakston, don’t you know. Me and Jamie? We’re like that. OK, so we might not be like that, but I bet we would if he were to taste the divine lemon drizzle cake I made with the Natural Yogurt (it also comes in Strawberry and Vanilla). The yogurt … [Read more...]

Home Made Mother’s Day

So, you've got about 48 hours left, Dads. I have to say that you are in luck because if there's one thing a Mother appreciates, after lie-ins and chocolates, it's stuff that has been hand-crafted by their precious offspring. So you still have time to whip up something to bring tears to the eyes of the woman who gave birth to your children. Or to you. For example, this tulip card is as simple as making a handprint and drawing a stem on it. No, … [Read more...]

Coloured rice and I spy bottles

I was looking around slightly vaguely for Kidling crafts on the interweb a couple of days ago when I came across these fabulous I-Spy-Bottles and just knew I had to make them. We spend every weekend in the car driving back and forth to the Kent Coast, and I am always on the lookout for easy ways to keep them entertained in the car. There's nothing worse than spending most of your journey twisting round from the front seat reaching for things … [Read more...]
