I frankly don’t know where to start. We’ve never been to a festival before, even before children. I was completely blown away by Lollibop. The highlights for us were seeing Rasta Mouse on stage, getting a shout out from CBeebies’ Sid, the giant sandpit, the man who climber inside a ball (just so wrong) and the massive amounts of dancing we did. The park was incredibly well laid out: there were seating areas every few metres, it seemed. Some … [Read more...]
Is the Petite Star Zia+ as good as the Zapp Xtra?
In a word, yes. In fact, I'd say it was better. Shortly after the end of my QuinnyCaster stint, I was lucky enough to become the owner of a Petite Star Zia+.Which, if DH is to be believed, takes me to a grand total of 12 pushchairs.... Now I have seen these around a fair amount in Bromley. I'd assumed that they were an interloper, a wannabe, a pretender. I was therefore truly surprised to find that it actually isn't. Firstly, there's the … [Read more...]

Love a Book Club: Water for Elephants
The week that I was sent a copy of Water for Elephants (thank you to the ever-generous Appliances online who funded Cara’s giveaway) I caught the trailer for the film. Despite featuring Reese Witherspoon, who I just know would be perfect to play me in the film of my life, in one of the leading roles, it did absolutely nothing to sell the film to me. If anything I rather thought that it looked rubbish. The book I read in 48 hours. I … [Read more...]
Pabobo Lumilove Giveaway
*yeh, yeh, I know, I received a Pabobo Lumilove Nightlight in return for this review, but you can have one too. Just enter the competition and win one of your very own to hug. Opinions, even when excited, are my own* I was delighted when PD was born because she gave me the ideal excuse to buy a Lumilove nightlight, something I had seen in numerous parenting magazines and thought was sooooooooo cute and perfect for my puppy-themed nursery. I … [Read more...]
Find me a Gift
We spent the weekend at the kind of house that could have been used to film Downton Abbey. I slumped in the ginormous 1920's bathtub and closed my eyes, imagining what it must have been like to wake in the morning when I was ready, knowing that the children were being seen to in the nursery, and trying to decide what to do with my day. Should I write a letter, ride my horse or paint a picture of the stunning views of open countryside from the … [Read more...]
When PD Built a Bear.
If you were to have said Build-a-Bear Workshop to me a month ago I’d have sighed, conjuring up a half-forgotten memory of a bear I received one birthday when I worked for a well-known insurance company. I’d only been there about six weeks when it was my birthday and they thought that I would love a fluffy lamb dressed up in a pink dress. Whilst I appreciated the thought and sentiment gift, I cannot fathom what made them parlay my … [Read more...]
