I just want to introduce my sponsors for BritMums Live this year. I've never been before so am very excited and three people have contributed to make the weekend extra special. Diet Coke- with whom I have worked before - are very kindly covering my travel and accommodation costs. If you are attending BritMums Live this year, please stop by their stand and talk to them. They are all so lovely. As my life is fuelled by Diet Coke there is every … [Read more...]
The countdown to summer holidays
The countdown has begun for us: we're into the second half of summer term and I am madly trying to plan things to keep The Girls occupied for the nine weeks that they get. Our actual holiday- the one DH has booked time off for- has been in the diary for nine months. We are very excited to be heading to Norway to camp in the night-time sun. The Girls are less enthused. They have friends who have booked a great August holiday this year: they've … [Read more...]
Bish, bash, Bosch: crafting with Cherry Healey
So last week I went up to London to spend time with the people from Bosch DIY and their primary advocate Cherry Healey for a Drill 'n' Spill evening. I love that blogging has brought me the kind of experience that allows you to sit around in the beautiful rooms at Homemade London and get your craft on with a really interesting blend of bloggers and crafters. That's literally all I did: sit sticking every single bit of pink and purple glittery … [Read more...]
A few good reads

But when we were tucked away in our beautiful temporary home at ValleCoppa, there was plenty of time to catch up on a) … [Read more...]
Three Days Film- the crowdfunded rom-com everyone wants to make

Vanessa Bailey, Bromley-based actress, has co-written and crowd-funded the trailer for Three Days, a rom-com about trying not to fall in love. And carrot cake. Three Days was an idea of hers borne out of frustration of a lack of female parts for 'older' women … [Read more...]
{Review} 5 great products for swimming with children
LBG is currently learning to swim. At her request, we take her every Monday for a swimming lesson at one of our local swimming pools, and she spends half an hour in the water with her teacher whilst I watch- usually with tears in my eyes- her slow, steady progress from Non-swimmer to swimmer. DH and I also take both Girls swimming every weekend to build on what she has learned but also to continue to give her- and her sister- confidence in their … [Read more...]
{Review} Vitamix Cocktails and Board Games Party
I had every intention of making things ahead of time for my Vitamix #margaritaparty, but my day went a little like this: 7am wake up late. Rush to get Girls ready for school. Remember car is at garage so call friend to take us to school. 7.55am leave house. Remember Tesco delivery on the way to school. Realise phone is where I left it next to my rapidly cooling cup of coffee. 8.35am get back to house post school run to find a note from … [Read more...]
