Family Room makeover and Lighting Majestic

family room before and after

Our house is slowly starting to take shape. Now that we have weathered our first winter and almost unpacked all the boxes, it feels like home. We have decorated several rooms: The Guest Loo The Kitchen Dimples' Room LBG's Room and this weekend the finishing touches were put in the Family Room. The Family Room- part playroom, part office for me, part snug- is off the hall but leads to the sitting room so is a bit of a through room. It … [Read more...]

Carte Noire Collection Espresso: finding your perfect pod partner

carte noire coffee capsule review

Welcome to Coffee Noire-ation: Carte Noire Collection Espresso helping you find your perfect pod partner. Today we have the lovely Kiki- a mother of two young children, she is short on time and long on tiredness. She says she feels a bit stuck in a rut with her usual morning coffee and is looking for something with flavour and character to really get her morning school run off with a zoom. She needs a capsule that is Nespresso®* compatible, a … [Read more...]

A Magical Mysterious Marvellous Bed

bedknobs and broomsticks viewing

The Girls were sent a bundle of goodies by Memory Foam Warehouse so that we could enjoy talking about the Classic film Bedknobs and Broomsticks, but also so that we could talk about beds. As if I need encouragement: my bed would be my Desert Island Luxury item! My Girls are similarly inclined. They take care to make sure the covers are just so when they get into bed. They arrange their favourite possessions, including dolls house furniture, … [Read more...]

Exploring the Pancake Possibilities with Warburtons

exploring pancake possibilities with Warburtons

We recently had the most marvellous package which allowed us to explore the pancake possibilities with Warburtons. Even opening the box had us spellbound. Pancakes tend to be a weekend treat for us, but because it was half-term, we got to eat a leisurely breakfast on a week day. And Warburtons sent such a huge range of topping suggestions- from pancetta to chilli jam to popping candy- that we really got to try some new flavour … [Read more...]

Canvas Design printed canvas review and giveaway

canvas design review

When I wrote last week about the kitchen renovation it made me think that I needed a more recent picture of The Girls to add to the collection. In a serendipitous moment Canvas Design got in touch about reviewing a Canvas Print and thus I found myself on Friday night doing the whole "Left-a bit!" "Right-a-bit! No, your other right!" with the DH. Whilst he hung the newest Canvas on our Family Wall obviously. And doesn't it look … [Read more...]

{Review} DK First Aid Manual

First Aid Manual book jacket

When LBG was born, I organised a First Aid Course through an awesome company that sent a nurse to our house. It was a little like a Tupperware Party: everyone came to us and we supplied drinks and nibbles. The babies slept in a collection of travel cots dotted around the house whilst we practised resuscitation downstairs on a doll version of the real-life babies we now possessed. It was simultaneously reassuring and terrifying, but we were all … [Read more...]

Blossom Magazine launches World Book Day Writing Competition

Blossom Magazine for Girls Cover

With Half Term on the doorstep it's great news that there is a new girls' magazine on the market called Blossom- for girls who love to learn. Magazines are perfect for taking on long journeys, to restaurants, or to keep my girls occupied for a couple of hours whilst I try to get things done. I always stock up on magazines before we go on holiday as they are light, easy to pack and offer hours of entertainment. Though the Girls, when given free … [Read more...]
