It's Autumn. It's chilly and the leaves are falling off the trees and that means it's time for warming recipes that make you smile. A couple of weeks ago, we passed by a neighbour who was harvesting the pears from his tree and he happily handed us a bag of them. After eating our fill, I peeled enough to fit, standing side by side, in a deep pan. Then I added a bottle of red wine, a good glug of Creme de Cassis and about 50ml of mulling … [Read more...]
Easy Peasy Pesto Pizza
You remember the two ingredient breadsticks that Dimples and I made last week? This week we made dough again only we actually made 2-ingredient pizzas this time. We mixed and kneaded and then I discovered a total lack of tomato puree so instead we made Pesto Pizza Bread. Its very simple. You use pesto in place of the tomato base. Breastcancer Awareness Bake: Millionairess Shortbread
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So it seems serendipitous that I saw this recipe for M&M Bark only the day after I bought several tubes of pink smarties last week. The two events collided in my sleep-addled brain one night when I needed a treat to make for a bake sale and this delicious NO BAKE Millionairess Shortbread is the result. Why Millionairess? I obviously didn't pin it, so just Googled the term and can … [Read more...]

Double Chocolate Cappuccino Cupcakes
Serendipity. Great word, right? It's the word that describes you getting a cake mix in a goody bag on the same day as your new teacup cupcake cases arrive. So, after a very busy weekend, Dimples and I got down to a bit of baking on Monday. After scanning the QR code, I discovered that my cake mix originated with Appliances Online's blog, where I also found the full ingredient list and instructions about a baking … [Read more...]
No-Bake Pumpkin “Cake-Pops” for Halloween
It's only a month until half-term and Halloween, which means it's time for me to start planning our Annual Pumpkin Party. I had an idea for a no-bake pumpkin cake-pop after seeing my daughters toast marshmallows on our last camping trip, so I wanted to test it out. I'm very pleased with my pumpkin cake-pops, and the Girls even more, because they can help make them. You need: marshmallows lollipop sticks orange candy melts, or … [Read more...]
