I got to Get Crafty last week at Oxfam in Camden High Street. Buttonbag- a fabulous sewing kit company started by Sarah and Sara (I know, that confused me somewhat) have created a series of fabulous crafting kits which enable you to repurpose bits you already have (or indeed Oxfam purchases) to make lovely things like bunting and thrifty patches . It's such a super idea. On top of that, the ideas they came up with when they began working with … [Read more...]
Pencil Serving Dish or Trivet
The key to a theme is the details, according to the book. So I took the idea of Back to School and brain-stormed those things that meant back-to-school to me. I bought a lot of pencils. I bought a set of cork place-mats in Ikea for £2.50, and cut them to size: just short of the length of a pencil, and the width of 20 pencils. Then I stuck the pencils in place using a glue-gun. And, because they talked to me, I glued some of the empty … [Read more...]

I'm so pleased with this wreath: fixed on the door in celebration of School starting this week, but also because we held a Back to School tea party for a few friends this week. … [Read more...]
Back to School Party inspired by Sweet Designs’ Book

Spray paint if needed. <I Put the instructions in bold so you didn't blink and miss them. Told you it was embarrassingly easy. I'm kind of embarrassed not to have tried it sooner. But I had to find the … [Read more...]

First up, the wood store, built by DH from pallets and leftover wood found in the skip that was residing in our front drive whilst the Man Cave was being built. He bought a length … [Read more...]
Tots 100 Home Club: Garden Challenge
The weather this year has not been brilliant: it has rained relentlessly since the day they banned hosepipes in the South East. The legacy of all that wet weather is a lush green garden. A garden that hasn't seen that much action this year, due in part to the weather and in part to the building of the Man Cave. Happily this month's Tots 100 Home Club Challenge is of the garden variety, not that there is anything common about it (see what I did … [Read more...]
