St George’s Day Craft: George Cross Tabard
The Church, knowing that a mere Saint's Day was no match for the epic event that was The Royal Wedding, moved St. George's Day this year. Who knew they could do that? I certainly didn't. And, no, they didn't really move it because of TRW, but because it would have fallen over Easter Weekend. Which means that tomorrow is St George's Day, and you will get to feel what it would be like if we had a public holiday every time we celebrated our Patron … [Read more...]
Royal Wedding Fever: Union Jack Biscuits
I've spent most of the day baking for our Royal Wedding Party tomorrow. A friend and I are following the recipes from a Coronation Street Party (that is a Street Party held in 1953 to celebrate the Coronation, rather than a party in an engaging British Soap Opera) which I will be hosting. I have asked that everyone wears a hat in honour of the occasion, and because this is my main memory of the first Royal Wedding I remember: I'm … [Read more...]
How to make a boat from juice carton

The songs are grouped into themes and whilst we were sitting watching it recently, PD announced that she wanted a boat. We went on a scavenger hunt around the house and found a blue blanket, a laundry basket, a spade and a tea-towel, and before we knew it, we were rowing the boat wherever she wanted to go. Whilst we had a theme going, I … [Read more...]

And it could not be more true in this article. Having said that, permit me tell you exactly what did work. Your article (parts of it) is actually incredibly engaging and that is possibly the reason why I am making an effort to comment. I do not make it a … [Read more...]
On the couch for Q & A
I have been tagged in possibly the best meme of the moment, (which I assume to mean that everyone who is anyone has already been tagged and so now it has filtered down to the ranks of those desperate hoping to be someone sometime soon,) for which I am thoroughly indebted to Ellen at In a Bun Dance. All Hail Mrs Lister, who started this particular ball rolling a mere 15 days ago. She clearly doesn't have children if: "there’s one … [Read more...]
I could write a sonnet about your Easter Bonnet….
According to PD's Easter Countdown there are 6 days until the Easter bunny comes, so it was high time we got busy with a LOT of glue and half of the world's supply of sparkle to decorate our Easter Bonnets. Whilst the girls got busy, I had to find something to occupy myself so that I was too busy to interfere help. Fortunately there was a packet of polystyrene eggs in the bottom of the Easter craft bag Granny had kindly given us and, with a … [Read more...]
