If you follow the blog you will know what an amazing time we had this summer in Arizona. The people we exchanged with were super: a great fun-loving family who loved the outdoors. We had dinner with them twice and their children were kind enough to look after ours without being asked. My Girls still talk about them as though we will be seeing them next week. Which is why I was so utterly shocked and saddened to learn this morning that … [Read more...]
Put the kettle on
Record rainfalls in April and June have meant that our kettles have been put to good use already this year, so now could be a good time to think about investing in a new kettle. In an article for The Guardian, Alexandra Topping explained that ‘More than twice the average rainfall hit the UK in April. The Spider in the Bath
Dimples doesn't like spiders. And then I have to remember which days to take Dimples back home with me! Now that I have Dimples by herself two days a week, I am getting into the habit of making time to do activities with her, some that I did with her sister at … [Read more...]
Nespresso Challenge: Maracas
A few weeks ago I tagged on to the tail end of a conversation about crafting with leftover Nespresso capsules and boxes. As a Nespresso fan, I stuck my nose in and before you could say "curiosity killed the cat" I found myself agreeing to get involved in Feisty Tapas' #NespressoChallenge. When I was in the States a few weeks ago, I stocked up on lots of fun craft stuff that is hard to come by over here, including a few rolls of coloured … [Read more...]
Blogcamp
I always get excited about Blogcamp. I am totally in love with the ethos that the Evil Overlord has in a) making it free and b) keeping swag and so on to a minimum, and focussing on getting good content rather than ticking as many boxes as possible. I would rather have two or three useful talks than a dozen lightweight ones. Which is how I came to be a trifle disappointed when Blogcamp London started last week and the Google+ presentation … [Read more...]
