It's been a really stressful few days, so much so that I have left myself only a week to organise PDs birthday party. It all got a bit on top of me yesterday and I really thought I was going burst with anger and frustration and the weariness that comes with days of interrupted sleep. And yet we girls ended up laughing and giggling and covered in paint. We painted some stones that we found a few weeks ago on a Suffolk beach (I always follow … [Read more...]
St George’s Day Craft: George Cross Tabard
The Church, knowing that a mere Saint's Day was no match for the epic event that was The Royal Wedding, moved St. George's Day this year. Who knew they could do that? I certainly didn't. And, no, they didn't really move it because of TRW, but because it would have fallen over Easter Weekend. Which means that tomorrow is St George's Day, and you will get to feel what it would be like if we had a public holiday every time we celebrated our Patron … [Read more...]
How to make a boat from juice carton
One of PDs favourite DVDs is a Day of Songs, which features the singing of Sophie Ellis-Bextor no less. The songs are grouped into themes and whilst we were sitting watching it recently, PD announced that she wanted a boat. We went on a scavenger hunt around the house and found a blue blanket, a laundry basket, a spade and a tea-towel, and before we knew it, we were rowing the boat wherever she wanted to go. Whilst we had a theme going, I … [Read more...]
I could write a sonnet about your Easter Bonnet….

Whilst the girls got busy, I had to find something to occupy myself so that I was too busy to interfere help. Fortunately there was a packet of polystyrene eggs in the bottom of the Easter craft bag Granny had kindly given us and, with a … [Read more...]
Home Made Mother’s Day
So, you've got about 48 hours left, Dads. I have to say that you are in luck because if there's one thing a Mother appreciates, after lie-ins and chocolates, it's stuff that has been hand-crafted by their precious offspring. So you still have time to whip up something to bring tears to the eyes of the woman who gave birth to your children. Or to you. For example, this tulip card is as simple as making a handprint and drawing a stem on it. No, … [Read more...]
Coloured rice and I spy bottles
I was looking around slightly vaguely for Kidling crafts on the interweb a couple of days ago when I came across these fabulous I-Spy-Bottles and just knew I had to make them. We spend every weekend in the car driving back and forth to the Kent Coast, and I am always on the lookout for easy ways to keep them entertained in the car. There's nothing worse than spending most of your journey twisting round from the front seat reaching for things … [Read more...]
Bubblewrap Easter Egg Card Craft
Now I'm no Red Ted, but I do try, and after some success at bubblewrap printing at playgroup a few weeks ago, I messed around with using Bubblewrap to make Easter Cards. You will need: Bubblewrap Cards Paint Glue Stickers, Glitter, adhesive ribbon, regular ribbon Firstly, cut egg shapes from the bubblewrap. Make sure they are slightly smaller than the card you are using. Then mix paint and glue together in the style of Mister Maker (a 50/50 … [Read more...]
