We spent the day at Brogdale Farm this weekend, for their annual Strawberry Festival. We rode the tractor-trail around the enormous orchards, we took a miniature train-journey in the sun. The Girls bounced madly on the bouncy castle before spending what felt like weeks in the craft tent, painting rocks and plates before worshipping at the altar of face-painting. We brought a picnic with us, which we ate in the shade of a hazelnut tree, … [Read more...]
What BritMums Live 2013 taught me about blogging.
In the past two weeks I have seen so many brilliant, articulate and amusing posts about BritMums Live 2013. I have devoured the words of others and said things out loud like "This!" and "Oh, no! Poor thing!" And "Was she there? How did I miss her?" And yet I find myself further now from writing a post than I have been since last Saturday evening when I dropped my many bags on the floor and hugged my excited children. I cried all the way home … [Read more...]

Remembrance Day Poppy Button picture
I know that Halloween is all that anyone is really focused on at the moment, but another event looms on the horizon that is much more significant, for me at least. I refer to 11 November 2012. Remembrance Day. The chance to take a moment to think and thank. I think of those whose lives have been directly affected by: the people who have to carry on with their loves whilst war rages around them, who have to give up their homes, lose their … [Read more...]
Pampers and Unicef working together to stop MNT
If you are parents you will know how precious each life under your roof is. You will also know how many nappies you get through daily. So it may come as no surprise that UNICEF and Pampers are uniting, as they have every year since 2006, to highlight the threat that Maternal Newborn Tetanus (MNT) still presents across vast swathes of the globe. Maternal Newborn Tetanus is caused by the spores carried in the soil in the less … [Read more...]
