When LBG was smaller we spent a long time one day making her a progress chart or reward chart as a tool to encourage her to sleep in her bed rather than on the floor. It was a big success and we have subsequently introduced reward charts for good behaviour and so on for both girls as we have needed them. But they get tatty quite quickly from daily use so I have been looking for a better option. Wouldn't you know that Kiddy Charts … [Read more...]
My Top Ten Potty Training Tips
It feels like a thousand years since my youngest was trained, but she's only just three. Which means that this time last year, I was 'in the zone'. She received pants as a birthday present from her Granny and that was it: she insisted she never wear nappies again. I have to say that part of the ease of it is her personality. Once she decided it was time, it was time. Which is my first tip: 1. Listen to your child. You know them … [Read more...]
Mother’s Day Gift suggestions
So Sunday is Mother's Day. Unsurprisingly Brother Adam has done nothing about it, which is fair enough. He is, after all, a bloke, and it was only Mum's birthday on Thursday so that's a lot of present in a short space of time. With that in mind, I have put together a list of some lovely things I have found around the web that I my Mum- any Mum- would love to receive this Mother's Day. You can never go wrong with a … [Read more...]
What to buy a three-year-old girl for her birthday
Dimples is milliseconds away from celebrating her third birthday. I am obviously milliseconds from clinging to an almost-empty Gin bottle sobbing "where did my baby go?" but will refrain until after the watershed. When asked what she wanted for her birthday, Dimples had one answer: baby things. Baby clothes, baby real food (I know!) baby highchair, baby cot, baby snowsuit, baby bibs, baby tights. The irony. Now, whilst this is good and … [Read more...]
Things to do in Prague with children
We spent Christmas in Prague this year and we've had a fabulous time. There was such a lovely festive atmosphere throughout the city, with Christmas markets, trees and decorations in every square, that it would have been enough just to wander aimlessly through the same squares every day. If you fancy doing a little more, or you aren't in Prague at Christmas, here are a few ideas for things to do if you are visiting the Czech capital with young … [Read more...]
{Review} Sainsbury’s Sparkling: perfect for any time of year
The people at Sainsbury's rescued me in the last week of term with an invitation to a tasting at their Head Office and testing kitchen. They also invited a few fantastic bloggers and my girl-crush Holly Bell ( cannot tell you how delighted I was that she sat next to me. Poor thing had no idea!) and plied us with a selection of their Sparkling wines, so my holiday was off to a great start. The thing about wines and sparkling is that so many … [Read more...]
#healing4Kerry
Kerry from Multiple Mummy is not someone I have met. But I have seen a room of women rise to their feet- sobbing in most cases- to applaud her husband. He collected two awards in her name in September at the MAD Awards, not long after she suffered a Brain Hemorrhage. Sadly she is still in a critical condition. So tonight at 10pm, the blogging community will be downing tools- in some cases picking up chocolate- to send all the positive … [Read more...]
