I am biased.
We are a dog-loving family.
I wanted to share my dog so much when we first got herΒ that she has her own Facebook page. Now, eight years down the line, there are many many platforms on which to share your dog’s antics, and Instagram is one of the best.
I recently discovered that in times of crisis, my Dimpled OneΒ can be brought out of a tantrum, soothed after a fall or distracted from pain by a scan through social media and as a result, have been hunting down the Best Ten Dog Instagram accounts. You should be following them.
Griffons Wellington, NZ Frankly you should be following this account just for the name. Digby and Aloysius are such delightfully upper class dogs. They have mastered the art of looking simultaneously cute and slightly disdainful. And yet they never fail to make me smile. If we could Double Like every single picture we would, they bring us that much joy. I always wanted a dog called Digby. Just so you know. Β Β
Schichon
London, UK.
Arne Jacobsen is cute and fluffy and I would totally steal him if I saw him on the street. He’s quite opinionated, I have found, but soooo cute. And there is the funniest video of him taking on a Minion that is a Must See. I laugh every single time.

If you’ve been using the hashtag #dogsofinstagram you may be interested to know that someone now runs an account of the same name and if you email them the picture of your dog, they will share it. All of which means we have a cornucopia of dogs to peruse until Dimples’ black mood has lifted and we can get on with the matter in hand. Finding real life dogs, planning what our next dogs will be called and working out what breed they will be.
Mini Sheepadoodle DC I know, he’s fluffy. But he’s just the softest looking thing on the whole planet. He’s a fan of water. I love watching the videos of him swimming. And you should see how sweet he is with the teeny tiny human he guards! Love.

A photo-documentary series about the beauty of dogs, this account features images from the upcoming book, THE DOGIST, due later this year. The photos are quite beautiful, of breeds of all sizes, and even includes a proposal!
After a full on day of doing nothing Ginny likes to relax with a good magazine full of pictures of dogs for her to look at. A photo posted by @ginny_jrt on
Jack Russell
UK
In addition to being fond of all dogs we are particularly devoted to the Jack Russell. As we live with one we know how energetic, funny and occasionally cretinous they can be. Ginny doesn’t look cretinous at all though: we’d certainly love to take care of her. And 336 thousand other people clearly do too!
Dachshund
Playa Del Ray, California
What’s not to love about a tiny dog? A dog called Pumpkin? She has huge puppy dog eyes that make you want to get a dog immediately, and shiny fur, and a little waggy tail.
Golden Retrievers
SP, Brazil
From little to big: this family of golden retrievers are hits with any child who has watched any of the Buddies movies. Or all of them. Golden Retrievers were also DH’s childhood dog so The Girls enjoy looking at them. Which is good because we are never getting a large dog. We are “small, feisty dog” people it would seem.
Shihtzu
New York City
Don’t mess with Marnie. She may be old but she has Β 1.6m followers. And a rockstar lifestyle. I’d trade with her any day of the week. She and her mate DougThePug know how to make the best of their years. Doug is a legend too, with nearly half a million followers- he’s definitely got Nashville and beyond hanging on his every word. Together, they are the Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Beyonce and Jay Z, Me and DH (‘kay that last one may not strictly be true.) Trust me. They are worth the follow.
Go on! You know you want to tell me what you think!
