I have always been a fan of the Stamptastic brand since I read about them on Mediocre Mum’s blog a few years ago and bought my own. And although our school requires that name tapes be sewn on, and in specific places, I still do not regret the purchase since there are plenty of things that get the Stamptastic treatment. That includes the friends and family to whom I rave about it every time the topic of naming anything comes up.
I was, of course, delighted that my fervent support paid dividends when Stamptastic recently asked me to be one of their Ambassadors. They invited us to a Stamptastic Day Out at Kew Gardens in West London, so one Saturday morning Granny and I set off with The Girls to enjoy and adventure and steal some horticultural ideas.
That we made excellent time was of no consequence since we got stuck the wrong side of the gates at the Car Park entrance to the Gardens whilst the staff tried to figure out which key opened the gates, all the while being heckled by an old lady clearly unimpressed by the delays. This delay meant we had to hot-foot it through the already tropical park to the Victoria Gate where the Stamptastic Trio and their team of splendid blogger ambassadors were being held up by us!
Then we got to live the high life and see the park in a relaxed state, from our own private Land Train whilst eating the breakfast we had missed out on due to our late arrival. Whilst you don’t get to see the every nook and cranny of the park from the train, we got a really good sense of the size of the gardens, as well as where everything was, all without exhausting little legs. The commentary gave some fascinating factoids too-who doesn’t love a factoid?
Once the refreshing tour- we picked up a welcome breeze as we drove- was at an end, we walked to the Tree Top Walkway, chatting with Emma, Francesca and Rie- the team behind the brilliant naming device that I have loved for so long. I was a total wuss about the whole height thing so left Granny to give The Girls a whistlestop tour of the Tree Canopy whilst I waited calmly at ground level, listening to the chinking noise the coins made as children dropped them down the pipes from the top deck. It took several seconds for them to reach the gigantic moneybox at the foot of the stairs.
After that another amble across to a large playground- the significance for the children- with plenty of space for a picnic- the significance for me. I am all about the food and the Stamptastic team did a sterling job catering for us all: handmade sandwiches, lunch bags for the children, not to mention the most divine sushi. I ate until bursting point whilst The Girls ran themselves ragged having fun on the climbing frames and seesaw with the others. It was all so terribly genteel and relaxed- with even a tipple or two of Bucks Fizz in pink glasses to wash down the largest cake I have ever seen pulled out of a suitcase.
The Stamptastic ladies really did the most incredible job catering for us all. They had thought of everything, walking around the venue with bags of water, cajouling the children into walking further than they would otherwise choose to, magicking up an implausible number of blankets and picnic rugs, not to mention a staggeringly large picnic from three wheelie bags. Then they topped off a wonderful day exploring one of London’s greatest treasures, with a take-home bag for the children including their very own name stamps! Such a lot of thought went into such a wonderful day! How lucky I am to be Ambassador to such a thoughtful brand!
Disclosure: we were invited to spend the day at Kew by Stamptastic but I am, as previously mentioned, their biggest fan! All opinions are honest.

Sounds a great day out. I shall have to check out your post on naming uniform, as a stamper sounds ideal. My iron-on labels easily fall off

Despite the lateness and rushing it sounds like you had great fun. Sorry we missed you and couldn’t make it
