Bird Song Fine China from Katie Alice

Living in a woodland area, there are a lot of birds.

Consequently there is a lot of bird song that wakes us in the mornings. As it starts at 4:30am it’s often no more welcome than my alarm which goes at 6:20am, but it is a lovely replacement to the noises of urban life- the sirens and beeping and car stereos- that we used to have.

In fact, bird life has become a symbol of the changes that we have made in our lives of late. There are five new bantam chicks in the chicken coop with our two “Originals” (also bantams.) There is a pheasant that waddles down to our lawn daily to have breakfast. I’ve named him Phil. There are bluetits and greentits that gorge daily on the birdfeeder ‎ ‏DH built. Yesterday he saw a juvenile woodpecker on the lawn. In fact he keeps binoculars on his desk so that he can look at the birds whenever he looks up from his papers.

Katie Alice Bird Song Tea Set

So you can see why the new Katie Alice Bird Song range from Creative Tops would fit perfectly into our lives. In this case it fitted beautifully into The Girls’ lives, for they fell upon it as I unwrapped it from the box and have refused all other tableware since. They use the afternoon tea plate for their afternoon tea. One has the cup and saucer for her evening warm milk, the other the dainty fine china mug. They each take a biscuit from the plate. It’s not even pretend. They take great care and stick their little fingers out like they were born to it. I half expect to hear them talking about the weather and their health.

And when they are finished, it all pops into the dishwasher when finished, and is microwave-safe too so perfect for warming milk in. And you can see for yourself how beautiful the design is. I have put a second set on LBG’s birthday list at her request. I fear I may be making cucumber sandwiches for the rest of my life….

*Disclosure: we were sent pieces from the Bird Song range for the purposes of writing this review. All opinions and photographs- along with the decision to purchase a second set so the Girls had matching crockery-  are our own.
