In the year that the Olympics came to London I joined in Project 366. It was hard work but I joined The Boy and Me’s linky every week and felt a tremendous sense of achievement at the end of the year. It changed the way I take pictures: it made me take pictures every day and not worry so much about the detail. It made me document the little things, the every day moments that make us the family that we are.
I missed joining in the linky last year, especially as I watched my Sister In Law’s feed fill with her Project 52, capturing the weekly changes in my niece and nephew across the seas in America. But blog life is busy. So this year I hope to bring a photo montage at the end of every month. Because I take photos all the time, it’s the editing and writing the post that is the least achievable element of the Challenge!
**For whatever reason the editing went a bit off and I have lost the will to rearrange: photos go in chronological order from left to right across, except for the last column. The last column carries on from the bottom right-but-one!**
1. TV: despite having two sofas they could sit on, The Girls watched perched on the edge of the dog’s bed.
2. This pheasant is a daily visitor to our lawn- we hear him in the woods, but he’s jolly hard to get a picture of. This is taken through the window of DH’s office, hence the leading on the edges which frames it so well!
3. Granny went to Paris and all she bought us were these heavenly, rainbow-coloured macarons!
4. Lunch en famille. I learned that everyone can roll their tongue but me!
5. Dimples dresses up.
6. Dimples and homemade lollipops.
7. Dimples couldn’t sleep but stayed up hugging her best friend. Nugget the Wonder Hound is much loved but seldom amused by the affection.
8. A Christmas present from Granny and Babar.
9. Snowdrops poking up through my path: is spring on the way?
10. Early morning reading before school. On the hall floor.
11. A family walk along the drive: the Girls have discovered they can connect their scooters with the Scoot-n-Pulls they each have, and scoot in tandem.
12. Her very first masterpiece, supervised by Granny, when visiting Grandad’s house for lunch.
13. Mamma I have made “big art”: it’s a child walking on the grass. Dimples.
14. This seat is taken. Never get up in the advert break: your spot will be gone when you return.
15. DH’s fancy-schmancy legal shirt with twiddly bit.
16. DH is away so I shall play- I took a glue gun to the girls’ kitchen table and recovered it with vinyl.
17. Flood Day: driving through two feet of water was not fun so we turned back. The road was subsequently closed.
18. Dry and bright: the girls amused themselves on the lawn building a “den” whilst DH built a birdhouse.
19. The goalie takes a break. It’s hard work being three.
20. DH’s new wheelbarrow arrived: we spent the evening constructing it and The Girls helped him test it once they got back from school.
21. Dimples helped me collect the eggs. Or egg.
22. Quilling for victory: I made a birthday crown for Dimples. It took a lot of time and all my patience.
23. Sisters: LBG is getting so good at reading now I often find her reading to her sister when they can’t sleep.
24. The woodland creatures have been nibbling at all the things we planted before winter. I need a pot-guard! DH subsequent;y caught pictures of a rabbit on the camera-trap.
25. Sudoku at breakfast.
26. Family portrait: we went to see The Pillowmaker at Tonbridge E M Forster Theatre. To be recommended.
27. I have been making flowers for a craft hangout. Dimples, who was up late, decided to decorate the dog with the scraps.
28. Dimples has found an old bib in the bottom of a box of doll clothes and feels the need to use it to protect her precious rabbitty pjs.
29. LBG seems to be growing up by the hour. She wore bunches today and was beside herself with joy.
30. My Honkopoly Costume from joke.co.uk has arrived. Where’s Kelly rather than Where’s Wally!
31. I have a courtesy car whilst my estate car is being repaired. It’s a 2 door Mini Cooper. It’s a faff to get the girls in and out but they love it so much. They keep asking DH to buy us one!
