I mentioned in my last post that we like to talk with the children about what they have enjoyed and achieved in the outgoing year and if there is anything they would be keen to do in the year ahead. We look at our memory jar of funny clever and insightful things that they have said throughout the year, and talk about the future. It helps get a focus as a family. But it’s also a great way of charting change in your growing [up] family.
In the past I have used New Year’s Interview printable that I found around the internet but I have created a New Year’s Interview for you to print if you want to do something similar. Now that LBG can read, it’s a way of encouraging her to read, think and write a little more. For Dimples, there’s a ‘picture of me element- they can each draw a self-portrait of themselves in 2013- and I can help with the writing. Then we can put them to the bottom of the memory jar and look at them later in the year!
Mique at Thirty Handmade Days has a great New Year’s Resolution printable to help grown ups focus on what they want from 2014
