Tesco Mum of the Year 2014 Shortlist

My Saturday nights are taken up with watching Strictly Come Dancing. LBG, Dimples and I curl under the blanket on the sofa to be dazzled and amazed by the calibre of the dancing and the spectacle of the show, lighting and costumes. The bit that I like least is knowing that someone will get voted off: everyone works so hard on their routine and puts such effort in. I would hate to have to chose between two such dancers every week. I cannot imagine what it must be like to have to disappoint someone every week.

Tesco Mum of the Year 2014 Shortlist

I cannot imagine the hours that went into choosing the Tesco Mum of the Year 2014 shortlist either. How do you narrow down over 6000 nominated women to a shortlist of just 30? That’s what is happening now, as I write: a panel of judges, including DJ Sara Cox, TV personality Gaby Logan and sports presenter Denise Lewis, are determining which of these exemplary women will become the Tesco Mum of the Year 2014.

The announcement will be made in January, and the winner will be treated to a full makeover and Tesco Living magazine photo shoot, before being presented with their awards in front of friends, family and celebrity guests at a star-studded lunch at London’s iconic hotel, The Savoy, on 23 March 2014, an event which i will be attending as a Tesco Mum of the Year Blogger.

If you want more information on the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards please read the About page on the Mum of the Year site. You can keep up to date with all the news from the awards with @TescoLiving  on twitter or following the #TescoMumoftheYear hashtag.

Wow, the women on the list are all amazing and inspirational. I don’t envy the judges at all.
