Tesco Mum of the Year 2014

My day has been pretty rubbish: I hurt my back helping DH fix the bed that the removals men had failed to put back up correctly. I had to yank a giant splinter out of my foot, which has added to my limp and then I wrangled my three-year-old, who was complaining bitterly about the rain- around the new school campus trying to find the ballet class I needed to pick LBG up from. The biggest highlight was having the Gas man switch the Aga on.

By comparison, the recipients of the Tesco Mum of the Year Award make me look like Scrooge McDuck. I mean, they juggle children and life and still find time to set up charities, raise thousands of pounds, or care for a dying friend’s children. And they do it without being asked, without seeking praise and often without recognition.

Tesco Mum of the Year 2014

Which is where you come in. Do you know someone who deserves to be nominated for the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards 2014? If so, then you only have a few days to get the entry in on their behalf- well, they aren’t going to nominate themselves are they?

You can nominate someone online.

You can email: mumoftheyear@tescomagazine.co.uk

And if you are quick, you could fill in the form in the Tesco magazine and send it off.

Either way you have until 11.55pm on 13th September 2013 to get your nominations in.

Winners will attend the glitzy awards ceremony at a prestigious London hotel and dine with celebrities. The prize includes being treated to a gorgeous outfit to wear at the ceremony, a two-night stay in London.

Most importantly, they’ll be recognised for all their amazing work. Everyone knows someone- a friend, colleague, friend-of-a-friend- who goes above and beyond to help, encourage and inspire. Help let them shine.

My annoyance today is that I am going out tonight and so won’t be able to watch the Bake Off. I am officially a Terrible Person.

Oh that is a perfectly reasonable annoyance, in my opinion!
