Ladies and gentlemen of the blogosphere, the countdown has begun. There are but three short weeks until BritMums Live 2013.
It’s always daunting going to gert big events such as this: how will you know anyone when they look nothing like their twitter avatars? Will anyone talk to you or will you go home feeling like you have wasted your cash? And even if you are meeting people, how will you find them?
BritMums do their best to help people get a foothold on the giant hamster wheel by having BritMums butterflies available. And there are always some prominent members of the blogging community that everyone knows and can go and stand by, looking for all the world like a teenage Belieber.
So I have decided to put myself out there, primarily because this means choosing my outfit three weeks in advance. I will be sharing what I am wearing , so that you can pick me out of a line-up at the event. This is useful if a) you really want to meet me. And I am award-nominated, you know 😉 Or b) you consider me to be a complete nutter you will do anything to avoid. Either way, it’s a win.
And if you want to share what you are wearing, then blog about it and join in my linky mcthingy. That way we’ll all know who to hug and who to run from. See? I am such a giver.

Are you wearing those fabulous shoes??? If so, I might just have to hunt you down and mug them off you….
Domestic Goddesque says
The shoes will definitely be there 🙂
Thank you for this. I was going to wear jeans but if it’s as hot as today was you may even see my legs!
You have a run on me with the packing thought @pinkoddy
Love your shoes! I guess I’ll have to keep an eye on the floor to spot you then lol! x
what could be better than shoe-spotting @angela
I am officially totally pants – no idea, and scared to look in my wardrobe *runs off in terror having seen your lovely stuff*
I just like giving off a good impression @helen
Brrrap brrrap! Loving the green missus – loving the green! And now to see what the others are wearing – good idea to help people know what to look out for! x
I thought so @annie. It’s so hard when you only know people online: the more you know about what they look like, the easier it will be to track them down 🙂
No idea on clothes yet………looks like the Summer heatwave is about to hit though (cotton!)
Summer may only last a day -make your packing a last-minute affair I saY!
I’m in! I made your Linky just in time and really looking forward to spending a weekend with the some epic bloggers
Your outfit looks fabulous @mari
I think I am as daunted about my outfit as I am about going at all!! 🙂
I shall likely be wearing jeans and an everyday top. I need something comfortable for going up to London, so whatever’s clean and doesn’t make me look too huge will do the job
I like your way of thinking Emma!
I’m still trying to decide what to wear. What is the dress code for a dad attending BritMums???
I so want to say a Borat mankini @dadblog, but the same rules apply: wear what’s comfortable, huggable and you. Maybe not heels??
Phew – this has reassured me, I was starting to get in a flap about exactly what a BritMums outfit might consist of… When I last passed through London, I suddenly felt like a fraying old parrot lost in a flock of sleek black ravens who all knew where they were going. My everyday pink spotty Seasalt raincoat and mauve dress looked distinctly eccentric amongst the dark-clothed fashionista of Paddington station. Still, I will very likely be in ‘out of town’ sunshine colours of some sort depending on the weather. I may try to tone it down a bit so people don’t think me too exotic to talk to. I hope I find you!
No such thing as too exotic @pippa. And I am certain we will find each other 🙂
Pah! I came to see what you were wearing! Although maybe I should be asking what’s under your bed 😉
So funny. In actual fact I have ordered two sets of clothes (review) from a website and want to try them on before I unleash my BritMums ensemble on the world!
I’m lazy and was so chuffed I got a sponsor that I forgot to mention the all important clothing. So I’ll be wearing the same as last year!
Delighted that I’ll be seeing you there @MummyWhisperer. Turns out we have a mutual actress/screen-writer acquaintance
I soooooo wish I was going, I keep forgetting that I’m at an exhibition that weekend.
Next year, Lisa- you’ve got to get these things in your diary very early: I have never made BritMums because DH got in with holiday dates first!
