366 week 46

I am not doing very well at the moment. My week has been bumbling along at the same frenetic pace as usual though.  Which may be a good thing. The camera has stayed firmly in it’s bag though, as it did last week, and I have been wholly dependent on Instagram.

A Dimples-heavy week of images. Next week will feature mainly LBG.

Sunday: Dreadful weather and a working husband chased The Girls and I to the soft play centre where, for the first time ever, I stayed in my shoes. They played happily together, coming back to me whenever they needed something, but never once needing me to come with them. It’s a reminder that my children are changing and growing daily. When we came home, DH had made lunch so we ate as a family then headed out to the beach for some sand-drawing, dog-walking and puddle-stomping. They both fell asleep in the car back to Bromley, unsurprisingly.

Monday: After the school run, Dimples and I ran our usual selection of errands

Tuesday: Once we dropped LBG at school, Dimples and I went to try out Sports Tots, a new local class based on teaching your children basic ball skills, team playing and sports in a fun environment. We had such a great time that we booked Siobhan for Dimples’ birthday in February and are excited to be going back next week. Granny M and Uncle Adam stepped in to babysit at the last minute so that I could enjoy a fantastic evening of Mexican food at a Blogger event and I happily carried my bundle of Discovery Food goodies home to a tired DH.

Wednesday: It was a beautiful sunny day. Perfect for spending the morning with a bevy of Brit Mums beauties, chatting over coffee and learning about some fantastic apps. Before I knew it I had to come back to Bromley to collect my babies. DH went back to school ‘after dark’ for a Parent Teacher meeting and came home beaming with pride.

Thursday: work filled the time I had between 8.30am and 2.30pm and then I was free. The Girls and a friend had a date at a local cafe with the Godlings- a regular date to keep in touch now that school has filled the gaps where playdates used to be. They were all very well behaved, whilst still managing to create a no-go zone around our table: perhaps people were nervous that multiples were contagious? Once done they had fun dancing to the live music in nearby Boots and choosing Christmas List items in the Disney store until home time.

Friday: DH was away overnight so I was secretly glad when Dimples crawled into bed with me at unknown o’clock. I slept soundly until the alarm. If I hadn’t been going to a coffee I’d have forgone my shower in favour of ten more minutes. But I didn’t. The Girls made it to school for Spotty Head Day (£1 each, thank you very much) and I took the most delicious chocolate cake ever to spend time with some of the loveliest people I could have hoped to meet. It was kind of a letdown when I had to go. Once I had my girls back, they fell apart quite quickly: a busy week had clearly caught up with them. And with his late return, DH stood little chance of getting down to the Beach House.

Saturday: DH and LBG were off on their train at first light so Dimples and I hung around at home then got dolled up for party-time (she out on her Princess dress.) Two hours, one rabbity face, 83 chocolate bites and a party bag later and we were on the road. We picked the dog up of course. First stop: the new baby visiting next door: my girls are besotted with babies and were delighted to be allowed to repeatedly hold baby Machine (don’t ask.) It was like pass-the-parcel at one stage. He is a dear little thing and so, so loved by his family.

I adore that photo of little one with the flowers, and of them standing on the step brushing their teeth.
