Sunday: LBG awoke after a bad night with spots that DH and I felt needed attention. After an hour in A&E Margate, she was diagnosed with shingles. We went to Burger King after for lunch as we all needed a treat. Then we went to the Beach to scout the rock pools before the journey back to Bromley. Monday: another bad night with LBG, understandably. We were thwarted in our attempts to get her into school as they required a GP letter so on Monday we all went pottery painting and then onto Granny’s house where The Girls did lots of reading and entertained Uncle Adam. Tuesday: Day two of failure on the GPs part to provide our letter so once again LBG was in school uniform and had nowhere to go. She came with us whilst DH and I scouted out a secondary school and we all enjoyed a family lunch at Cafe Rouge in Seevenoaks afterwards. Wednesday: the day finally arrived when LBG got back into school and we were both so very happy. To top off the day the Twins came for tea, and The Girls worked on doing Hello Kitty jigsaws together. Thursday: with both Girls back in school, I finally caught up on postponed jobs and coffee dates. Dimples tried to disguise herself at the bottom of the laundry basket. Friday: More school. The Wonder Hound was spirited off to kennels whilst DH and I started getting things ready for our Half-Term holiday in Holland. THis involved going up into the loft-somewhere I never venture, but The Girls were determined to have a poke around. Saturday: after very little sleep we had an early start as we headed towards the Eurotunnel, which gave us a chance to watch the sun rise whilst trying to tune out the children’s new CDs. It was about 6 hours door-to-door, including the Tunnel crossing, so we were at our new house by mid-afternoon, allowing plenty of time to play on the slide, meet the animals and spot birds from the open-plan living-space windows.
