Sunday: we went swimming with The Girls in Deal, where Dimples terrified us by repeatedly throwing herself headfirst down the many water-slides, but we all had a great time. PIcnic tea in the car on the way back to Bromley saw LBG do the Hula-Hoops-on-the-fingers thing and some maths as an added bonus! Monday: with DH at home, Dimples and I made the most of the warm autumn day and went to the park. She practised scooting and threw herself down the slide, which is getting to be a bit of a habit. We scored the most amazing wooden doll’s house, complete with incumbent family and furniture for a bargain £18. Tuesday: after school we headed over to Granny’s house as we haven’t been in so long. Uncle Adam and Granny demonstrated the fine art of conker playing to The Girls, using conkers that Dimples and I found the day before. Granny won. Wednesday: with both children in school, I headed to meet a friend for coffee and managed to chat for so long it was lunch time before I left. After school we had a relaxing time at home, playing with the doll’s house, before I left Dad to be ‘The Boss at Bedtime’ whilst I went for drinks to catch up with an NCT mum that I haven’t seen for a long time. Thursday: with no time to be tired, I was on a train to London to the Pampers Unicef #1photo1vaccine event where I had a chance to catch up with the fabulous Cafe Bebe. Dashing home in the rain I was just in time to pick up THREE girls from school for a playdate. There was Hama fun, biscuit decorating and cake baking, all of which exhausted my children and they were asleep before 7, leaving me to enjoy my Charlie Bingham’s Fish Pie and catch up on Downton. Friday: as soon as the school run was done I headed back to bed, then had an unexpected chat on Skype with my brother and niece, who had just woken up (they live in America) NO sign of the new baby though: guess he was partying. Then Daddy was the boss again as I returned to Wednesday’s venue, this time with dozens of mums from school for a meet-up. Saturday: a much-needed lie-in and we headed to the Beach House via swimming pool and lunch on the beach in Deal where they are fortifying the flood defences: lots of diggers to see though it did not make for a quiet lunch. Then we went in search of the perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch before heading home to log fires and lots of snuggling. A bad night for LBG, who was very unsettled, which all made sense the next morning.
