Project 366, week 37

week 37

Sunday: breaking camp took a good while but we returned home happy, if a little tired. The Wonder Hound took it upon herself to spend most of the day on the sofa recovering.
Monday: the first Monday of our new normal. The Dimpled Ninja and I occupied ourselves with errands and crafts and cupcakes, before collecting LBG and going to friends’ for tea. LBG showed off a new use for her hat by using it to balance her maraca.
Tuesday: I enjoyed the chance to make a cake for the Mothers’ Coffee using a fabulous recipe from English Mum.
Wednesday: LBG gets to try out the games kit for the first time. The yellow games socks go all the way up to her hips. She refused to wear the sweater.
Thursday: A day in London. I attended the much-famed BlogCamp, meeting friends old and new and enjoying delicious frozen yogurt, before walking across Lincoln’s Inn Fields to meet DH for dinner. We didn’t get home until after midnight- shocking behaviour for a school-night. How lucky we are to have Granny M to babysit.
Friday: another coffee morning, this time for Dimples’ class, in my new role as Class Rep. After school we spend an afternoon in front of the TV before heading down to the Beach House once DH finished work.
Saturday: such a beautiful sky this morning. DH brought LBG breakfast in bed, as she requested, in a bid to rid herself of a “terrible cold” (self-diagnosed.) We took advantage of the weather and had brunch on the terrace outside the Beach Cafe. We had a relaxing afternoon together and then a delicious family supper together, courtesy of Utterly Scrummy and my Field and Forman winnings!

The dog on the cushion is a classic example of the role the Wonder Hound has in our home: if there is a warm cosy spot to be found, she will find it, even if that means ousting one, or all, of us. I adore the snap of Dimples: she’s always on the run so this is very ‘her’.
