Project 366 Week 36

week 36

Sunday: The Girls and I brought DH breakfast in bed. They then climbed in next to him and proceeded to ‘share’ his feast. There were crumbs everywhere πŸ˜€
Monday: we took Granny on a long-promised expedition to Leeds Castle whilst DH worked at home. It was a warm day, so we had lunch on the terrace and played in the junior playground until the children begged to go home and play in the paddling pool. We rode the road train back to the car: it made us all very happy at the bargain price of 50p per head.
Tuesday: the day of the Back to School party. There were lots of school-themed snacks to eat, games of Hopscotch and an Alphabet Scavenger Hunt. My Girls really enjoyed seeing their friends.
Wednesday: Back to School Day, although really a day of firsts for us. LBG had her first day in ‘real school’ as she moved to Reception, whilst Dimples got to experience Kindergarten for the first time. DH came too. We’re both so very proud of them both.
Thursday: more school. I took a trip to the Prima Creative Stitches show at Bluewater with Red Ted Art, and fell in love with a pom-pom tea cosy. Then I headed into London for supper with DH and future House Exchangees.
Friday: school again for The Girls. I helped Vintage Mix score a few free window frames, then had the excitement of using our roof-box for the first time as we packed all the camping gear. We went straight from school to a field near Tonbridge, and had enough time after erecting the tent to toast marshmallows on the fire.
Saturday: a beautiful sunny day quickly warmed us after a cold night and The Girls made new friends with other girls who were camping. The four had lots of fun running around the woods and playing on the rope swings. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch in a nearby pub garden then spent the afternoon collecting wood for the evening fire. More marshmallow toasting with new friends and The Girls begged to go to sleep. Even the fire wasn’t enough to keep DH and I warm after dark though, so we cuddled up in bed with The WH.

That sounds like such a lovely week. Leeds Castle looks really impressive, my boys would like that one! As for marshmallow toasting, always a favourite, we have been doing that tonight on the BBQ too! Thanks for linking up to Country Kids.

Thanks twoofeverything. Delighted that you are going to come back πŸ˜€
Thanks too for all the super comments: I really appreciate you taking the time. We had such a great week camping. I had totally forgotten what fun it is to burn, I mean toast, marshmallows. And I only burnt my mouth once πŸ˜€
