Sunday: both girls were so very excited to meet baby J, a friend’s three-week-old daughter. They both sat so beautifully and held her carefully with utter delight on their faces, and were utterly devastated to leave her when we had to head off to a birthday party. But they had a super time there too, playing Hook-a-Duck, eating scones and Dimples finally learned to scoot. Monday: Dimples and I had some project time whilst big sister was in school, then she saw the polystyrene box left from our Forman and Field delivery (thanks to Utterly Scrummy) and before you know it there were little white beads all over the house as she created her winter wonderland. Tuesday: more autumn-related activities with Dimples after an exciting trip to the supermarket. The fact that she was exhausted made it no easier for me to leave to go to Beaufort House, sadly. Despite Daddy being in charge, both Girls burst into tears and clung to my legs begging me not to leave. I really enjoyed the cocktails when I got there! Wednesday: dropping both girls at school didn’t go swimmingly, not least because I was a tad sleep-deprived. And I went out again, this time leaving The Girls with Granny M, to a craft event in Camden. Thursday: LBG didn’t cry at all at drop-off, a miracle in our house, and I had no-one to tell! I went for a walk with Lady S with whom I am doing the Shine walk next Saturday. Whilst we had lunch after, we made plans to get to Battersea. Then I scooped up my school-girls and took them dress-shopping before meeting The Godlings for tea in Bromley. It was a non-stop kind-of day. Friday: despite high levels of exhaustion, I still felt the need to ‘do’ the local charity shops and came home with a few (dozen) bargains which will make future projects. I collected LBg and Dimples from Ballet and we stayed up waiting for Daddy, who unfortunately had to work late, whilst we talked excitedly about Baby Leo- the latest member of our family. Saturday: DH took us all out for lunch at a lovely pub in Seveoaks after we visited Walthamstow Hall Open Day. There wasn’t much time after that for LBg to get changed for a birthday party at a local soft-play centre which ended badly for us when LBG suffered severe bruising after an ‘incident’ and actually fainted whilst crying. My week finally caught up with me when I fell asleep on the end of her bed whilst waiting for my babies to go to sleep.
I am struggling on the outdoor bit for Country Kids but non the less a lovely week in photos. I love the one in the kitchen with nothing but pink shoes!
