Project 366, Weeks 30 and 31

Project 366, Week 30

Sunday: the White Horse Country Park on the way back from the Beach House. LBG shows her love for Dimples whilst they both avoided eating their picnic.
Monday: The Olympic Torch passes by the end of the road.
Tuesday: A little swimming in the garden. Dimples is very pool-phobic, but a bucket of water in the back yard is fair game, especially when filled with bubbly water.
Wednesday: LBG gets some alone time with the playdough whilst Dimples does school.
Thursday: Teachers’ Gifts all finished for the very last day at nursery. The Girls have been at ‘school’ five doors down since LBG was seven months old. We’ll miss it.
Friday: portrait of mother by daughter.
Saturday: evening in Toronto, and The Girls enjoy sliding on a wave-like ‘installation’ by the lake. We caught up with LBG’s godparents with a night in Toronto on our way through to Arizona.

Project 366, Week 31

Sunday: my pool-phobic daughter feels the fear and does it anyway in her standard ‘kamikaze’ fashion.
Monday: Phoenix Zoo is a good place to go with jet-lag as it opens at 7am. But then it is in the desert. Not that the rhino seemed to mind the heat.
Tuesday: The Girls get a bit wet in the splash-park.
Wednesday: proper ‘Western’ scenery on the Apache Trail.
Thursday: playing in the Grocery Store at The Children’s Museum of Phoenix, where everything is hands on and designed for children. Why don’t they have something like this in the UK?
Friday: Dimples gets all zen in the pool.
Saturday: it’s 110 degrees so we decided to try making a solar oven. The t-shirts were gifts from the people whose house we are staying in: they are promotional merchandise for Arielle Martin, an American BMX medal hopeful, who sadly had a very serious accident on the last day of training and is in hospital.

The Cacti here can grow to be 60ft tall Elaine: I think they’d be too tall for anywhere in the UK!

It looks like her confidence is growing in these photos? Hope she manages to get over her apprehension of the water. Have a fab holiday.

Than you all for the wonderful comments. THe Girls are having an awesome time. Having a pool in your back yard definitely has an impact on the swimming ability of your children.Confidence no longer an issue and they have both begged for swimming lessons!
