Upcycled Duck egg cups

ducks

I saw the sweetest little ducks in a Charity Shop recently and brought them home. I was sure that they were egg cups but, as my Girls have yet to be convinced that eggs are not the work of the Devil, there is little point in keeping them for that purpose. I had the idea to use them on the dining table as salt and pepper servers, at least once the build has finished and I am in a position to have grown-up dinner parties. I know they would look fabulous.

But as sweet as they were, they were tired, and a bit too green. Unsure what to do with them, I was inspired by this Owl Makeover, and have given them a classic stylish update that All About the Boys would be proud of. A couple of coats of primer, and a top coat and I am one very happy Mother Duck.

Love that idea, I have lots of finds that could be improved by some paint!

Yep, I agree with Liz – once you can do something like this to a duck the world is your oyster!!!
    They look brilliant x

Oh wow, what a clever idea. Love using them as salt and peppers.

Thanks for the link – I’ve passed by toooo many cute-but-too-gaudy ornaments in my time. I shall give them a second look in future. x
