I’ve become quite addicted to Charity Shops of late. I blame Liz and her Magpie Monday. At least that’s the excuse I use: the reality is that I like a good rummage, and I’m growing to like repurposing- or upcycling as I believe the youngsters call it- more and more. This week I turned up a few interesting items:
I liked this plate because of it’s shape. I have a project in mind for it. I’ll need some spray paint first.
Next up is treasure of the shiny kind. Treasure that my Girls adore.
Treasure that fits perfectly into the treasure box I bought a few weeks ago for the bargain price of one English pound. This may also get a revamp shortly.
Whilst I was thinking of The Girls, I came across these. I have a suspicion that they are napkins from the days when you had special napkins for Afternoon Tea as opposed to larger ones that were used at meal times. They will be doing duty as little girl hankies though. 6 for 50p.
I have never seen the point of the book stand before. Then, the other day, I was baking with The Girls and I ended up smearing pages with sticky fingers because the book fell shut whilst I was half-way through the recipe. Now I own one. And, even better, I have discovered that it is the perfect tool for enabling me to read whilst eating.
I also bought a couple of other pieces that I shall be remodelling, so stay tuned. If you don’t subscribe, there’s a floaty button down on the right hand side of the screen.

I love the hankies they are beautiful. Its not very often I get to go to a charity shop. I think the last time was when I was on a treasure basket search. xx

I find Charity shops are a treasure basket adele!
Love the sparkly beads, especially the multi-coloured ones.
And you’ve inspired me to look out for a book stand on my next thrifty rummage!
Thanks for visiting SingleMarriedMum- looks like you have a fairly good command of CHairty Shops. I’ve no doubt you’ll have your very own hands-free reading device shortly!
Super curious to see how the plate turns out.
And great shiny beads, my little magpie would adore them!
Oooh I love a good repurpose, so you’ve got me intrigued.
That treasure box is so pretty, my daughter would love it for her tatty plastic beads n baubles. x
