Saturday Showcase

Here’s some of the things I’ve been reading this week that I thought were worth sharing with you, in case you have a spare minute for reading this weekend.

One

fingerprint craft @ The Iowa Farmer's Wife

I love the simplicity and effectiveness of this card idea. I just know that I’m going to use it lots. Once I find the missing ink pads.

Two

March Calendar @ Se7en

There’s a new one every month, along with a comprehensive list of anniversaries, days and events. I particularly like the unusual ones: did you know the washing machine was invented on 28th March, for example?

Three

Little Legacies @ Alexander Residence

I dip in and out of this series for no other reason than it tends to get me all maudlin and I end up weeping buckets. This week though the talk was of tooth fairies, the going rate and the magic you weave for your children. Something to think on for when that moment arrives for us.

Four

You Probably Shan't Go To The Ball @ Our Pea Green Pod

I was going to say that this post is particularly relevant to those raising girls, but I’d be wrong. This is a post about ensuring that gender stereotypes portrayed in Disney films don’t take hold in real life.

Five

Jelly Belly Daisy Cupcakes @ Fuss Free Flavour

I am so making these for Mothering Sunday. Aren’t they sweet? And easily achievable even for a novice cake decorator!

Six

Turkey Chorizo Meatballs @Jenny Eatwell

I was honoured to be included in a round-up of February Family Friendly Fridays (try typing that after a cocktail hour) and this recipe was given the Number One spot. Looks like I need to work a little harder at my cooking. This recipe sounds so tasty I could lick the screen.

Seven

Boredom Busters for Boys @ Dragonfly Designs

I get told a lot that I don’t know what it’s like to raise boys; that they won;t sit and do the things my Girls do because their temperaments and concentration spans are so different. This is for them.

Tune in next week for more. And if you can’t wait that long, I’ll be back tomorrow with this week’s 366 installment.
