Light

When I first saw this week’s Gallery theme I was a little bit excited. As someone who is just learning how to get better photographs, light did not immediately call to mind the ISO setting or AV mode or the best-light-being-in-the-early-morning-or-late-afternoon or any of that technical stuff. I thought feathers.

Except, despite several trips to the duck pond, I couldn’t find any to photograph.

Which was fine because I’d already moved on to amusing myself with other takes on the idea of light: candle light, fire-lighters, kitchen scales, Maltesers….. I like being ‘creative’ with the theme. I suspect I need to get out a bit more too. But anyway…..

One song kept coming back to me *clears throat*  “they say the neon lights are bright on Broadway” (I blame the karaoke on Saturday night), which lead to me thinking about coloured lights, which is how I ended up with this:

Tail Lights

Yeah I like taking those shots as well. Fortunately I don’t drive so can sit in the passenger seat snapping away to my heart’s content. You can get some very interesting and fun effects.

Love that – the way they are blurred makes it all rather surreal.
