It seems like Sunday is coming around faster than it did last year, although we did have an insanely busy week last week, and I think it took it’s toll because we have all been exhausted since then. We all had a lie-in on Sunday after the late night, and went to Rochester to have lunch with friends. The sun was out at last and the children spend lots of time running around in the garden together. Suffice to say they were good for nothing when we got home and sat watching The Nativity on DVD until bedtime and eating cake. There was a general reluctance to leave the house on Monday morning so we got out the Duplo and got building. A trip to Granny’s house filled the afternoon, then home for bed.
Back to school bright and early on Tuesday morning, which brought the usual sadness. Dimples and I went cooking, and there were blueberry pancakes for tea, a recipe that I’d practised the night before. DH has been out of the house before dawn all week so I’ve been doing the school run on my own: getting to two different places within a 20 minute window is quite challenging in the morning traffic so I’ll be glad when September comes and The Girls both go to the same school. It was a big day for Dimples, who has begun potty training, but she got through the day without accident and I am so proud of her.
Thursday didn’t go as smoothly so there were a few wet clothes for me to wash when we got home. I didn’t mind though, as I’d had a lovely morning with Kate Darkins in a sunny Churchill Gardens, chatting and showing off my ‘modelling’ skills. After I collected The Girls we headed into Bromley for tea with good friends, bumping into Daddy en route, which was a shock for us all. Then Friday was upon us, and after running the usual end-of-week errands we all headed off to the Beach House. The weather was simply beautiful, the sea absurdly calm and the ice-creams were all sold out.

IN actual fact, BoyandMe, that is the photographer Kate Darkins. I did once dye my hair red. It didn’t suit. Works well on her though.
You’ve had your hair coloured red? That is you isn’t it?
Thanks for linking up!
these are lovely – and the first two made me hungry!
Great pictures. We are also currently potty training. Hope it’s going well for you.

Love the doggy photo this week! But then I’m soft on dogs!
Mrs Tee- it’s all about the dogs.
SarahMumof3- it wasn’t until I took this picture that I remember the joy of spinning round a pole as a child.
Jenny- I swear it’s The Girls that make the shots, not me!
Thanks for stopping by Heidi!
oooh your pancakes look yummy!
Love these pictures especially the dog keeping cosy
twopointfour- the dog likes being cozy. I swear she’s part human.
Great pics, and those pancakes look amazing! Making me want to rush out and buy blueberries and make some today.
Sciencesparks and Bluebirdsunshine: I don’t mind telling you that my pancakes were awesome. Which is good because I had a dozen eggs left over from Dimples’ birthday party. They work very well with strawberries too.
Fab photos – love the one of you and the girls reading together. Special moments xxxx
Thanks MyGorgeousBoys, and ShellLouise- it’s a favourite of mine too. Like any mum, I spend most of the time behind the camera so have very few shots of me actually doing the stuff that I do with them!
The one of you and the girls at bedtime is my favourite. I love how they’re snuggled up to you 🙂
Great pics, I love the Sunday snuggling one! Can’t beat it after a busy week 🙂
I know Claire- that’s certainly how I feel after a sleepless night!
aww love your photos for this week. Especially the photo of your doggy in the pushchair. Or is it like on Towie where they had a buggy designed for dogs lol x
Wow what a lovely selection of pictures 🙂
Thanks for the comment Paula.
Donna- I have seen dog buggies. In fact there’s one locally that I see an old lady push. She looks like she should be sitting in it and the dog pushing her.
Love the dog resting while the kids walk! With you on the pole dancing, my kids still do this, and tummy flips over the bike lock ups! thanks for linking up to #CountryKids
Fiona- don;t ask me what goes through that silly dog’s head.
