Project 366 Week 7

holding the baby

Week Seven, Sunday: Holding the baby. I love the look on LBG's face.

Caution: man at work

Week Seven, Monday: Man at work. My much-loved, much-beleaguered husband.

hair cut one hundred

Week Seven, Tuesday: just a trim, thank you.

Terry Warren Goldcrest from driftwood

Week Seven, Wednesday: Driftwood Goldcrest for our wedding anniversary. Six years is iron or wood. The Goldcrest is sculpted from driftwood. I hope it will sit on DH's desk in his new office, when it's finished.

Ice cream at the great British seaside

Week Seven, Thursday: Flake 99. You can't see the wobble as I shivered taking the photograph.

Birthday Girl on the beach

Week Seven, Friday: wear your badge with pride.

Disco Fever

Week Seven, Saturday: My disco-babies strut their stuff on the dance floor. This was before Dimples decided her polar-bear PJs were too warm and stripped off. And before I had to carry LBG sobbing from the dance-floor. She didn't want to leave.

Half term week didn’t work out the way we had planned. On typical fashion, DH had to work, though at least from home, so I had someone to share the bedtime burden with! On Sunday we spent time with good friends, their beautiful little girl and her equally beautiful two-week-old sister. My Girls were enchanted. Monday dawned cold at The Great British Seaside, so we had a fun trip to the supermarket and feet measuring (now a regular holiday-activity!) Tuesday brought a fun-filled morning at our local play-barney (no idea….), an experience that left us all traumatised by kids too old to be there, and parents who felt it was acceptable to let their children pelt considerably younger kids with ball-pit balls as they came down the slide. The afternoon featured the thrill of hair-cuts (half-term-activity number two) and tea at the Cafe.

DH took a deserved day off on Wednesday and we all went to Canterbury to collect his Anniversary present. We were delighted to find the Holy Grail of food outlets which served both meatballs (Dimples’ current favourite food) and Jacket Potato with cheese (LBG’s) and gave DH and I a splendid All-Day-Breakfast, which quickly made up for the fact that the DVD player stopped functioning that morning. A new one was quickly installed and DH went back to the grindstone on Thursday, although we did finally get some sunshine so abandoned painting-with-straws to spend time on the beach. The Girls had ice-creams whilst DH and I huddled round hot chocolates out of the wind.

Back home on Friday morning after giving Dimples’ Birthday Micro-scooter an airing on the seafront, and I threw myself into party-preparation, managing to bake, decorate and fill party bags in under 24 hours. I was feeling quite smug as the birthday girl ran around our sitting room with her friends on Saturday morning whilst the adults had coffee and an excessive amount of sausages. Then after a long nap for us all, we headed to Essex to the wedding of a good friend from University and arrived home just before midnight with two exhausted but very happy children. It was a busy, but fun-filled half-term, but I think that I’ll be glad to get back to the regular routine now. Oh, and did I mention our wedding anniversary was on Saturday too? DH and I barely had a moment together, so will go out to dinner at some point soon.

Thanks for the compliment Emily: it’s luck and a good camera rather than actually being a competent photographer.
Mum2Four, I tell you, she was in heaven. She loves babies.
That’s a lovely thing to say Paula.

I love that trike, it looks like lots of great outdoor fun judging by the lovely happy face. Fab ice cream shot too, only kids can appreciate ice cream in the cold! Thank you for linking them to Country Kids
