I see from the schedule (OK, RedTed told me. I’d forgotten all about it.) that I will shortly have the honour of pulling an allnighter editing entries hosting the fabulous British Mummy (and Daddy) Bloggers and the fortnightly love-fest that is The Carnival.
So, I’d better get on and look like I know what the hell I’m doing: I’m fairly sure I signed up for it about a year ago and, suffice to say, I have slept since then. I’m sitting here, still freezing, although the snow has finally melted from the pavements in the afternoon sun today. It’s Valentine’s Day, which I still despise, and the Groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter. I’m sleeping in two pairs of socks and our pipes froze over the weekend. Which would be acceptable if we lived in a non-centrally-heated-farmhouse in the 1950’s, but we don’t. Even Dimples has learned to shout “I’m freezing!”
Which makes me think that we could all do with a little hope, a little glimpse of things that lay ahead, a suggestion that we may have other, warmer weather, to complain about in our typically British way, at some point in the realtively near future. Your submissions are therefore requested for anything to do with Spring: Easter crafts, pictures of spring bulbs, stories about wayward chickens and inquisitive lambs. Actually any cute animal. Gratuitous hope. Delicious food that doesn’t involve root veg and a slow-cooker. And anything and everything in between, around and in the general vicinity of all of the above.
Cheating most definitely allowed.
This is what Britmums say:
If you are a newbie, it’s a way to get new readers and if your an old hand, it introduces you to new blogs. It’s also loads of fun and really give you the pulse of the parenting blogosphere.
This is how it works: every two weeks a different parent blogger “hosts” the carnival. Bloggers submit posts from the past month.
The rules are one post per blogger and it must be something written in the past four weeks. No commerical* or sponsored posts.
In short:
the deadline: 28th February 2012
the topic: all things Spring
the details: kellyinnes@hotmail.co.uk
Be there, or be a Groundhog. Bah Humbug to you in that case.
*not my spelling error, though most of the others will be.

Dammit, so I can’t use my Easter post from last year then? Eeek! I’ll be off to try and write something new then. I might need prodding.
