I frankly don’t know where to start. We’ve never been to a festival before, even before children. I was completely blown away by Lollibop.
The highlights for us were seeing Rasta Mouse on stage, getting a shout out from CBeebies’ Sid, the giant sandpit, the man who climber inside a ball (just so wrong) and the massive amounts of dancing we did.
The park was incredibly well laid out: there were seating areas every few metres, it seemed. Some were simple haybales, others were big picnic tables. Given the glorious weather, I was impressed to see so many sun umbrellas too.
There were lots of loos dotted around, several baby change tents, feeding areas and good sized buggy parks: all crucial things for parents of small children.
There were INSANE amounts of things to do: cheerleading, face-painting, fancy dress races, sports skills, trike-riding, bouncing, dancing, story-telling, sticking, painting, drawing, felt making, dancing, watching, sliding, more dancing, treasure hunts, meeting characters, dancing again.
There were INSANE amounts of food: two main food areas, in different parts of the park, all smelling delicious and selling really interesting food. Everything from woodfire pizzas to chickpea flatbreads could be found. Though burgers and pizzas sound ubiquitous, the taste was anything but, and my girls absolutely loved the corn-on-the-cob stall. I preferred the Churros stand next door, unsurprisingly.
And, for someone who never knowingly goes somewhere that doesn’t have shopping opportunities, there were INSANE amounts of stalls selling books and plants, fancy dress costumes, toys, clothes, photography sessions.
We could have stayed all day: you’d need to stay all day to see and do everything. If you’ve got the stamina, get to Regent’s Park this weekend: we had a blast. You will too.
Go on! You know you want to tell me what you think!
