Going a bit Pete Tong

For the last several weeks I have been using a USB keyboard with my laptop because of a disastrous incident involving a cup of coffee, a small child and a sleep-deprived husband. It turns out that the replacement keyboard isn’t on order because le man did not get le email. And now le bloody temporary keyboard, which renders laptop more of a PC than a laptop, has stopped functioning too.*

So I have no access to anything I have saved on my laptop. This includes photographs, draft blog posts, articles and my personal collection of pseudo post-it notes (my daughters steal the real ones.)

I am not a happy bunny as I have no connection with my world (the interweb and blogosphere) save the #toosmartforme phone. Good thing I wrote this before disaster struck (yes, I have been quoted in The Washington Post!)

In lieu of being able to type, I plan on baking a lot this week. There will be calories involved. Recipes I plan to try include:

1. Chocolate Zucchini Muffins: a cheeky way of getting veg in to PD and Dimples.

2. Peanut Butter Cookies: they’re no-bake. like that’s not an invitation to go “Whaaaa? How??? Must try!!!”

3. Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies: like I need a reason.

Oh, and keep your eyes peeled because as soon as I have the technology I will be sharing Chocolate-Cupcakes-In-A-Jar. Your life will never be the same again. Mine isn’t.

*when I get cross, I speak in faux-French, as if that will somehow make it better.

Can’t wait to see your cupcakes in a jar. It’s on my list of things to do too!
