You may recall a few weeks ago that I wrote about Alice, a Cumbrian teenager who has terminal cancer. Alice put her Bucket List online and it went viral. There were so many lovely people out there who volunteered their services to help Alice achieve some of her dreams. Just look at her list now:
Some of my bucket list
- DONE – To swim with sharks
- To make everyone sign up to be a bone marrow donor
- To go to Kenya
- DONE – To enter Mabel in a Labrador show
- DONE – To have a photoshoot with Milly, Clarissa, Sammie and Megs
- DONE – To have a private cinema party for me and my BFFs
- DONE – To design a Emma Bridgewater Mug to sell for charity
- To stay in a caravan
- GOT – To have a purple Apple ipad
- To be a dolphin trainer
- DONE – To meet Take That
- To go to Cadbury World and eat loads of chocolate
- To have a nice picture taken with Mabel
- To stay in the chocolate room at Alton Towers
- DONE – To have my hair done
- DONE – To have a back massage
- To go whale watching
It’s been a terrible week, news-wise, as more stories of phone hacking emerge, and as the people of try and understand how one man could slaughter holidaying teenagers in their dozens. People do some truly incomprehensible things. Yet amongst all the sadness, it’s heartening to know that there are people out there who will do all they can to help a teenage girl’s dreams come true.
You can follow Alice on twitter to keep up with her adventures, or check out her blog: she’ll have to add some new things to her list soon. You should also consider becoming a Bone Marrow Donor, since that is Alice’s primary objective with all the publicity she has been getting. See her Bone Marrow Appeal Facebook page for more details.
Go on! You know you want to tell me what you think!
