Flashing and teething

Dimples has been up during the night of late. She’s cutting teeth, poor thing. She’s done incredibly well with the two teeth she’s had up until now and although the nights are hard work, I’m really glad she’s getting more teeth so that she can enjoy gnawing on lots of the delicious fruits that will shortly be coming into season.

It has reminded me that I need to take her to the dentist: absurd though it is, she can’t be registered at our dentist without a first check-up. Given that she is my kamikaze baby I’m keen to get her registered as soon as possible so that when the inevitable tooth-knocking incident occurs, I can rush her straight down without having unnecessary paperwork to fill out first.

More excitingly it also means that I can upgrade from the finger toothbrush we’ve been using until now, which was why an email offering me a sample of America’s No. 1 toothbrush, Firefly, was very well timed. On the day they arrived I was only grateful that Dimples didn’t have more teeth, since she practically chewed my arm off to get to the toothbrushes. Want to know why?

They flash. Press a button and they flash for one minute, which is so much more fun that using a timer. Oh, and did I mention we were sent the Hello Kitty version (there is a Spiderman one for the masculine toddler!)? Cats come second in our house only to our precious Wonder Hound so the arrival of a cat shaped flashing toothbrush was by far and away the coolest thing that has happened to them since Santa dumped a truck load of gifts in our sitting room way back in December. I have to hide the toothbrushes between uses because otherwise we’d spend half the day in the bathroom brushing. My Girls are in love with their teeth, and their toothbrushes. Can somebody at Firefly tell me why they don’t make them for grown-ups too?

Disclosure: we were very kindly sent two Firefly toothbrushes for The Girls to test. The price range from £1.40 – £2.49 which is a fantastic price considering they are not just your usual toothbrush. Find them on sale over on Amazon or at your local Lloyds Pharmacy/The Entertainer Toy Shop. All opinions are our own and not influenced by Firefly.
