Well start parent software

I am far from the most techno savvy person, and I had to be talked into trying the Wellstart Parenting software. But I’m so very pleased that I did try it, because it’s some pretty clever stuff. The software has been designed by experienced GPs and parents rather than techno-geeks with their eye on the next big thing, so it actually does what it says on the tin and provides really useful tools to parents, parents-to-be and people who are trying to conceive.

It’s very easy to use, and pretty much self-explanatory, so you don’t have to spend ages working out how to upload your personal information. You can add as much or as little detail as you want, charting the progress of your pregnancy, your baby and your child. The Development Calendar forms the central operating tool of the software, enabling you to see every milestone, chart your baby’s progress and be reminded of appointments, something I could have done with to prevent me missing three innoculation appointments in a row. You can add your own notes, photos and videos too, creating a personalised Digital Baby Record Book: far better than writing everything on scraps of paper that get lost before you get round to writing it in the paper version.

And if you have any concerns about your child’s development, something which happens with regularity in our house, the software also provides an amazing wealth of online resources via Babycentre. You can access all sorts of information, and bookmark it there for easy access. Like I said, pretty clever stuff. You can just tell that it was carefully thought through by the two doctors and mothers behind it. In fact I’m slightly envious that I didn’t think of it myself.

It’s a Baby Record Book, a diary, a medical dictionary all rolled into one, and at a mere Β£9.98 it’s not just a bargain, it’s a steal. And you don’t just have to take my word for it: there are oodles of testimonials on the website, which also gives you more information about this great software. And if you are still unsure, you can even download a free software trial.

To buy as a download, you can buy the software from the Wellstart Website, but if you would rather get the CD, then you can buy it online at several locations, including Amazon and Play. You won’t regret it: it’s absolutely the best place to start your record.
