Secret Santa

Another Kidling Craft day, cheating slightly since the shapes are left over from last year’s Christmas party activity, so I had no nasty cutting up to do. The secret to a good Santa: Take your super dooper Santa template and stick on felt/paper/painted face. If it looks odd, it’ll make more sense shortly.

Liberally apply glue. Ideally to picture, though this is not the only place where glue will stick.

Liberally apply cotton wool to glue. Wherever the glue might be. I think the key thing here is to keep your eyes on your child at all times whilst they are in possession of glue stick. Then draw on eyes and nose. Or use a gold chocolate coin for a nose (the secret and surprise element). Hence the lack of nose in the photograph: as soon as she realised it was chocolate, it was removed from the picture and consumed. At least she got to it before the dog.
My Blogger’s Secret Santa gift arrived over the weekend. I’ve no idea who to thank but they took the time to check out my blog and gave me a recipe journal. A perfect and very thoughtful gift, though I confess it looks so beautiful I’m reluctant to dirty it’s pristine pages. In lieu of thanking my Secret Santa, whoever they may be (they did have jolly nice handwriting: it looked friendly) I shall thank Second Time Mummy for organising it. I’ve always been a hater of these things at work in the past. But with people I’ve never met before, it seems to work. It just goes to show how much more thoughtful the online community is than the real life one!
