One of the advantages of the SPD is that I am at home a lot more than I used to be and, because so much of the Domesticity is delegated to those more able, I can spend more time in the kitchen. This too is a complicated process since I cannot stand for too long, or walk carrrying heavy things, or get them in and out of the oven, so still need a lot of help. These cookies are fantastic for that reason. Whizz all the stuff in the Magimix, roll, squidge and bake. Sit down for 10 mins, then roll, squidge and bake again. Repeat until you have cooked all the dough. Sit down and come back when cool, ice and let the PD go wild with sprinkles.
I have made nigh-on 200 of these over the last couple of weeks for various Christmas parties and as gifts, so I’m getting very proficient. Bizarrely, for me, I am still following the recipe. Nigella says that you should get 2 dozen. I have never made less than 35 from the same mix and made 4 dozen this evening. Hence me still following the recipe. I have needed more icing every time though. Beware too, as they do spread whilst cooking. And are very bad for the waistline (not that I have much of one these day) as it’s impossible to just have one. i don’t know why they should just be for Christmas either. They are just as pretty and tasty without sprinkles. I have a feeling that they will be a regular feature in the DG house….
Let Nigella show you how. And Merry Christmas.

They look delicious! I'm soooo tempted!
Totally understand the SPD and not getting out much. Mines been alot better since in recent weeks (Little E was born 7 months ago now) but during this cold snap we've been having I've stayed in much more as I was afraid of falling with these damned dodgy hips! I feel 80 some days.
Now, back to those cookies…..
