Thought for a Thursday

The evening news featured the funeral of Olaf Schmid, a bomb disposal expert who recently died in Afghanistan. His wife, with extra-ordinary composure, asked us to continue supporting our soldiers, even if we did not agree with the war. It’s such a small request.

    I so so agree with you. As a forces wifey I totally understand her sentiment, it's not about supporting the war, its about supporting our husbands, boyfriends, lovers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mums, wives….. they're all out there doinf their job.

    Absolutely – its one thing not to agree with the war or the politicians who got us involved, another entirely to support our armed forces in the hard work they are doing and the sacrifices they and their families are making to hopefully bring peace to those countries
