Very lovely I’d say, festooned as they are with white bows, candy canes and a selection of white and clear glass baubles. I don’t quite know where the time is going at the moment…I’m sure I blinked and suddenly we were in December. But I have managed to slow down enough to enjoy dressing our tree, sing some carols, feed the Christmas cake and get all the cards in the post…wonder if I’ll be this organised next year with a small person to sit and stare at all day!
We went to Birmingham to visit friends this weekend and had a great time catching up. We also spent a few chilly hours sampling the best that Brum’s German Christmas Market had to offer. I was a little sad not to be enjoying the Gluhwein but managed to console myself with a Brtwurst and chips. With music blaring out over the tannoy, it almost felt like I was back in Frankfurt. Pleasingly they also played my Christmas song- Chris Rea’s Driving Home for Christmas- which I usually don’t get to hear until my husband plays it down the phone to me from some random location a few days before the Big Day. So I really feel that Christmas is here. And I’m off to make Christmas Stars and wait for the arrival of the mothership….

What a pretty tree! My son was supposed to go to the German market in Manchester with his German class but got the form in too late. I offered to drive him and others who couldn’t go but got turned down for “health and safety” reasons. Maybe we can go this weekend.
German Markets are excellent. It’s a shame you didn’t get a chance to sample the Gluhwein. Christmas time has started here too with the first snow of the winter.
A little person to stare at all day. That will be so lovely for you. Your tree is gorgeous.
