Festive flavours and chocolate: a perfect home-made Christmas gift
Ingredients
  • 400g white chocolate
  • 400g plain chocolate
  • 8 glace cherries, halved or quartered
  • 1 handful dried cranberries
  • 1 handful dried mixed peel
  • Edible glitter stars
  • *you can also add nuts- I prefer the colour of pistachio- but I was making this for the children's teachers and they are in a NutFree School.*
Instructions
  1. Melt the plain chocolate in your usual way (I put mine in a pan on the back of the Aga and forget about it)
  2. Pour melted chocolate into a lined tin about 20cm square
  3. Leave to set a little, then whilst it's half-set, melt the white chocolate in a clean pan or bowl.
  4. Meanwhile, sprinkle the gubbins over your semi-set plain chocolate, arranging the bits so that every bite will have a bit of fruit in it.
  5. Pour over melted white chocolate and gently even out to the edges, pushing with the back of a spoon or spatula, but being gentle so as not to move all the fruit.
  6. Sprinkle with glitter stars.
  7. Leave to set completely then break into pieces a bit like you would with toffee, wrap beautifully and set out to meet your new best friends.
