It’s a common desire, albeit after you’ve given birth and spent a few months adjusting to what it means to be responsible for a small crying baby 24 hours a day, to want to do something about your appearance. There are some lucky people who seem to effortlessly be back in their pre-pregnancy Jeans [...] It’s not been the best year. I started 2010 housebound, trapped inside by snow, pregnancy and SPD. I was in unbearable pain, resenting the baby I was carrying, frustrated with myself for feeling such resentment and self-pity. Even when Dimples arrived, the pain didn’t stop, the resentment didn’t go away, the frustration lingered. And [...] Christmas Countdown The snow has arrived (at last) in the suburbs of South East London* which can only mean that, as usual, it has peaked too soon and the much-fabled White Christmas is another 388 days or so away. In the meantime, now that I have dispensed with yet another birthday, I can get [...] It’s the night before our Annual ‘Pumpkin Party’. I say ‘Annual’ but the first one was only last year, so I don’t know whether it can be annual yet. I say Pumpkin Party, but the theme is much less visible than last year’s affair, mainly because I was a bit slow to get my [...] I’m grabbing the bull by the horns, and putting pen to paper, as it were. DH has been banging on at me for the last year about ‘writing that bloody book’, but I’ve always found an excuse not to. It’s quite an impressive feat given that I spent the end of last year [...] I spent rather a lot of time at the hospital today testing out my new wheelchair so never quite got around to posting.
